Derby officials checked Manitowik Lake on Saturday February 25. There is 14-18" of ice everywhere on the lake. There is a small amount of snow on top of the ice and the lake is flat for riding.

No. You must follow the Ontario Sportfishing Regulations. Only fish which are considered sport fish according to the Ontario Sportfishing Regulations are eligible.
This means that LING are NOT eligible.
According to Rule No.15, the limit is entering 2 fish/day or a total of 4 for the entire Derby.
However, you must also follow the Ontario Sport Fishing Regulations and fish according to the type of licence that you have for each species of fish (i.e. Sport Fishing or Conservation Licence).
Yes. All participants MUST check in and out of each lake which they are fishing. This is MANDATORY and will be strictly enforced.
This is a safety issue for the Derby Board. We must know that all participants are off of the ice each night and that all participants are safe.
Yes. Credit cards may be used for online payment/registration (a $5.00 fee will apply).
However, tickets are also available locally (until Tuesday, February 28, 2017) for purchase by cash or credit cards (service fees may apply) at Wawa Beachfront Outfitters (14 Broadway Ave) at 705-856-0770, and also at Canadian Tire (54 Broadway Ave) 705-856-2285.
Registrations can be purchased at Wawa Community Center from the morning of Wednesday, March 1, 2017 by calling 1-800-367-9292 ext 240 or in person until noon on Friday, March 3, 2017 after which the registration will be open on the arena ice surface.
You will receive all your derby materials when you register at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 01:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

You can fish anywhere on the assigned lakes within the marked boundaries. Please refer to the Rules and Regulations for restrictions on how close you can be to another participant.
